Dr Soleiman Kashkooli is a Melbourne-based gastroenterologist with extensive experience in managing gastrointestinal and liver conditions. He completed his internal medicine training at Eastern Health, followed by specialist training in gastroenterology and hepatology at Concord Hospital in Sydney.

After his specialist training, he undertook a fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada. During this time, he gained further expertise in complex IBD care and endoscopic balloon dilation of colorectal anastomotic strictures. In addition, he authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and has remained actively involved in supervising and training junior doctors and medical students.

Clinical Services and Interests :
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (including IBD in pregnancy)
  • Faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT)
  • Management of liver disease, coeliac disease, GORD, hepatitis B and C, and irritable bowel syndrome

As Head of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Unit at Northern Health, Dr Kashkooli works closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated patient care.

He consults privately at GastroNorth in Bundoora, Wantirna, and Balwyn North, and performs procedures at The Victorian Gut Centre, Mitcham Private Hospital, and Knox Private Hospital.

He is accredited and re-certified in colonoscopy through the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.

Fluent in Farsi (Persian) and Turkish, Dr Kashkooli provides care to patients from diverse backgrounds.
