Gastroenterologist & Endoscopist

Dr Nina Parthasarathy is a Melbourne-based gastroenterologist and endoscopist who provides patient-centred, evidence-based care. She graduated with First Class Honours from Monash University in 2009, where she was named dux of her clinical school.

She completed physician training at Monash Health and then advanced training in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Austin, Northern, and Box Hill Hospitals. In addition, she undertook a clinical fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at Box Hill Hospital, where she gained more experience in managing Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Furthermore, Dr Parthasarathy has completed formal training in gastrointestinal ultrasound at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Alfred Hospital. She now performs this specialised investigation at Northern Health.

  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and functional gut disorders
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis)
  • Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD)
  • Coeliac disease and fatty liver disease
  • Iron deficiency anaemia and gastrointestinal bleeding

Dr Parthasarathy holds a public appointment at Northern Health, and consults privately at GastroNorth’s Bundoora and Epping locations. Procedures are performed at The Victorian Gut Centre and Northern Private Hospital.

She regularly attends national and international conferences to remain up to date with clinical developments. In addition, she is accredited and re-certified in colonoscopy through the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA).
