Dr Alvin Chung is a Melbourne-based gastroenterologist and endoscopist with expertise in gastrointestinal and liver conditions. He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2003 and completed his basic physician training at Austin Hospital and Northern Hospital.
Following this, he was appointed Elizabeth Austin Registrar at Austin Hospital. In this role, he oversaw physician training and general medical care. He then completed advanced gastroenterology training at Austin Hospital and Box Hill Hospital. Afterwards, he undertook a fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), further developing his skills in complex gut health management.

He consults privately at GastroNorth in Bundoora and Bulleen, as well as performing procedures at The Victorian Gut Centre, The Victorian Day Procedure Centre, Northpark Private Hospital and Epworth Eastern.
He is accredited and re-certified in colonoscopy through the Gastroenterological Society of Australia. Furthermore, Dr Chung is committed to patient-centred, evidence-based care. He also maintains an active interest in professional education, regularly participating in continuing learning opportunities.
