Dr Simon Glance completed his Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Endoscopy training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and at Monash Medical Centre. Following this, he undertook a fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy with expertise in endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) and performs polypectomies, endoscopic dilatation, haemorrhoid banding & capsule endoscopy.
Dr Simon Glance is interested in all areas of gastroenterology, including bowel cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and liver conditions. He practices a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, and has a keen-interest in the dietary management of gastrointestinal conditions. He advocates a multidisciplinary approach and works closely with specialist gastrointestinal dietitians.
He is dedicated to ongoing education, and attends national and international conferences in Gastroenterology & Hepatology to keep abreast of the latest advances in his field of expertise.
Dr Simon Glance is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, Gastroenterological Society of Australia, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, European Association for Study of the Liver and European Crohns & Colitis Organisation.
Dr Simon Glance was the Director of Gastroenterology at Northern Health for 10 years. He dedicated much of this time establishing Northern Health’s Gastroenterology/Hepatology & Endoscopy Unit services. He currently holds the position of Deputy Director of Gastroenterology. Dr Glance is an experienced gastroenterologist and enjoys being part of the Northern Health training program where he supervises trainee physicians and medical students.
Dr Simon Glance works privately at GastroNorth and consults at our main rooms in Bundoora and also at Whittlesea. He performs procedures at The Victorian Gut Centre and Northpark Private Hospital.
